Headfirst offers developmental leagues and select/travel team opportunities for athletes in the metropolitan Washington, DC area. We call these programs "The Gamers". Depending upon the sport, we offer our teams for all athletes age 6 years old all the way up to 18 years old.
The Headfirst vision for the "Gamers" program is the creation of an athletic learning environment that stresses:
- Effort over Results
- The "Team" as opposed to the "Me" attitude
- A positive coaching approach that also challenges athletes both physically and mentally.
Our primary goal is to teach our athletes what it means to be a "Gamer" on and off the field or court. All "Gamers" teams are professionally coached, while parent involvement is limited to "parents-as-fans" only.
The Headfirst Gamers program has been recognized as a National award-winning organization by the Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) and by the Washington, D.C. Home Plate Club as Youth Organization of the Year.
